A great opportunity is available to join a fast-paced, dynamic and supportive team as our Financial Accountant.

In this role, you will be a key player in helping to deliver financial information including development and effecting reporting of financial performance. Your responsibilities will include managing balance sheet reconciliations, handling taxation queries and completing statistics returns.

 

Key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Oversight of the transactions team
  • Preparing GST, FBT and taxation returns
  • Preparing reconciliations and journals required for month end reporting·        
  • Supporting the financial controller in the delivery of the annual report
  • Preparing financial reports for council meetings

 

To be considered for this role we are ideally looking for:

  • Chartered Accountant or equivalent qualifications
  • Experience supervising in a finance team or equivalent
  • Excellent knowledge of New Zealand accounting standards and taxation
  • Experience in the preparation of financial accounts
  • A passion for continuous improvement to drive positive change with systems and processes.
