Activation encourages those in their more senior years to maintain an active, healthy lifestyle. The benefits of being physically active include improvements in health, strength and stability, social connectivity and cognitive function. There are a number of fun and varied opportunities on offer.

Senior Regional Games

Let's celebrate positive ageing! The Senior Regional Games is an annual event that provides older adults the opportunity to participate in a variety of fun, light-exercise activities, such as badminton, cornhole, dancing, indoor bowls, table tennis, walking netball and more in a safe environment. Not designed as a competitive event, this day is all about having fun and focusing on what our bodies can do, not what they can’t!

The Senior Regional Games is a free annual multi sports and social event for those that are 50+ in the Wellington Region. Suitable for the active; less active than I used to be; only active if I get to see my mates; and those keen to come and watch others be active.

The Senior Regional Games is hosted by Nuku Ora.
