Book a community noticeboard

Upper Hutt has eight community noticeboards available for promoting local notices and events:

  • Six wooden noticeboards in various locations.
  • Two digital noticeboards on Gibbons Street and Fergusson Drive, Silverstream.

 

Key information

  • Bookings are free, but you must cover any design or printing costs.
  • Availability of these community noticeboards is subjected to confirmation.
  • Printed artwork on wooden noticeboards must be removed by 5PM on the final booking date.
  • If the end date falls on a weekend, please remove posters by 9:30AM on the following Monday.

 

Conditions

  • Bookings are subject to availability and are not confirmed upon submission of this form.
  • Upper Hutt City Council events take priority for noticeboard use. 
  • Noticeboards are exclusively for community notices and events within Upper Hutt, and are not for commercial advertising.  
  • Upper Hutt City Council reserves the rights to decline bookings or remove signage at any time and for any reason.  
  • Approved bookings are allowed a maximum of 14 days of use or as specified in the confirmation email.
  • Artwork must be submitted for approval at least 10 working days before the confirmed start date. Send artwork to marketingandpromotions@uhcc.govt.nz or upload it when booking.  
  • If artwork is not submitted by the deadline, your booking may be released to the community.  

 

In New Zealand, the NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) provides specific guidelines to ensure signage safety and legibility, particularly for public roads. We ask that you please adhere to the following conditions. 

 

Wooden noticeboard

Your design

  • Digital noticeboard is for community notices and events happening within Upper Hutt
  •  Minimum 160mm height for all text (excluding logos).
  • Maximum of 40 characters or 8 words.
  • Maximum 2m wide and 1.4m tall.
  • Designs must be approved by Upper Hutt City Council before use.

Installation

  • Printed artwork must be stapled to wooden noticeboards; no additional structures must be attached.
  • Install artwork on the first confirmed date and remove it by 5PM on the final confirmed date.
  • The person who books the noticeboard is responsible for installing and removing the posters.

Digital noticeboard

Your design

  • Digital noticeboard is for community notices and events happening within Upper Hutt
  • Digital specifications are 384 pixels (W) x 240 pixels (H)
  • Digital resolution must be set to 72ppi
  • Minimum 24 pixels for all text (excluding logos)
  • Maximum of 40 characters or 8 words
  • Designs must be approved by Upper Hutt City Council before use

Installation

  • Artwork must be submitted for approval at least 10 working days before the confirmed start date. Send artwork to marketingandpromotions@uhcc.govt.nz or upload it when booking.
  • The signs will be uploaded on the booked date and removed on the end date, upon confirmation.
