What is Neighbourhood Support?

Neighbourhood Support is a nationwide community-led movement administered by Upper Hutt City Council; and aims to bring people and neighbourhoods together to create safe, resilient and connected communities.

This initiative supports individuals and neighbourhoods to establish Neighbourhood Support Groups and in Upper Hutt we work alongside NZ Police and Community Patrol to make our community an even greater place to live.

Being part of Neighbourhood Support means joining the NS Whānau and you and your neighbours choose how your group runs and operates, and we will support you where possible.

Why should I join?

Neighbourhood Support encourages you to connect with your neighbours and provides you with tips and resources that improve household and neighbourhood safety, emergency preparedness and stay up-to-date with important community news, alerts and events.

Best of all, Neighbourhood Support is free!
